CANSA Kimberley held its annual Relay for Life on 16-17 March 2013. Due to the continued enthusiastic support of the community, sponsors, partners and volunteers it was once again a huge success.

To show CANSA’s appreciation to all the role players a function was held at the De Beers Big Hole Auditorium to hand over awards to participants and to thank all of them for their efforts and contributions. De Beers sponsored the event and refreshments for the evening.

Over 40 certificates and 14 trophies were awarded to the well-deserved teams and committee members.

The local schools are highly involved in the Relay and are very competitive amongst each other. This was the third year that Girls High Kimberley won the Trophy for the most funds raised by youth teams. They raised R47307.11. Diamantveld High was second with R29283.90 and Adamantia High third with R15466.00.
