Warrior Race # 5 – 3 August, Ballito, KZN
The Warrior Race #5 of the year is taking place on 3 & 4 August at Holla Trails, Ballito, Kwa-Zulu Natal together with the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA), promoting SunSmart and being active to lead balanced lifestyles to help reduce your cancer risk.
Warrior Race is the new generation of obstacle course racing in South Africa, an exhilarating experience no matter what level of experience or fitness. There are various levels and race categories tailor-made to test endurance, fitness and mental strength. All races have individual and team entries and winners progress to the finals to be held in Gauteng at the end of November. CANSA is present at all events, raising awareness about living a balanced lifestyle & playing sport safely in the sun and providing free sunscreen that carries the CANSA SunSmart Seal.
CANSA is encouraging all to enter as CANSA Active participants. There are 100 available entries for the upcoming race in Ballito at a fee of R350. CANSA Active Warriors receive a free CANSA Wrap, Warrior Coffee mug, as well as an entry into a lucky draw to win a pair of Rudy Project sunglasses valued at R3 500.
“We encourage participants to wear pink and orange and to raise funds through challenges before the race weekend via our online platform. Rozanne McKenzie, TV presenter and a regular Warrior race participant, adds “Warrior Race has been great for me – every one I’ve done has been the most amazing challenge. It’s been incredibly difficult at times and I’ve had moments when I’ve wanted to give up, but something inside has made me keep going and the feeling of overcoming all those obstacles at the end really is awesome. I would relate this to the fight against cancer by saying NEVER GIVE UP! That’s what The Warrior Race has taught me.”
Warrior Race #6 takes place in Stellenbosch on 21 & 22 September at Bilton Wine Estate as well as a celebrity Warrior Race #7 on 19 & 20 October at Redstone Private Country Estate, Hartebeespoort Dam.
